We had a handyman put a kink in our soil pipe today. The old one going through the wood near the gutter and it had all rotted. There was potential for a roof leak and he had to replace some roof tiles too.

Putting up ceiling coving
Just put up my first ceiling coving in the lounge. Got it held in place with little nails while it drys over the next 48-72 hours. It gives the room a nice finish I think. I won't be able to go around the whole room until the fireplace and cupboards are in though.

New front door
We've put a new front door on the house and painted it pillar box red with brass finishings. The old one was horrible with long panes of glass and unsecure so this is a real step up. The new one matches the brickwork outside. Will post the old door when I get the pics off the camera.
First post
I created this blog so that family & friends can follow the DIY updates on our house. Should have set this up sooner as there are loads of pics to be posted, before and after pics to get off the camera, to show the progress we've made so far. Will get around to that sometime.
Anyway enjoy this blog for now as I blog from my phone.
