Spare room fireplace

Spent the whole day putting the fireplace that arrived this morning into the wall in the spare room.

Hired a medium electric breaker from a nearby tool store and broke open the chimney and fitted it in.

Had some issues re-fitting the skirting boards but all ok now with some cement :-)

Woodburner

Finally had one of our woodburners installed in the dining room fireplace downstairs after rain delayed the first installation.

Really looking forward to using it this weekend as it's been quite chilly here this week - am keen to see how much it heats up the house, and hearing the fire crackle.

Note to self: Get some logs for the weekend!

Fireplace hearths

One of our woodburners was supposed to be installed this week but the rain prevented the guys from getting up on the roof so they were only able to lay the new hearths.

Trying to reschedule the install again and then will post more pics. Fingers crossed it doesnt rain again, or snow!

Pointing the chimneys

The guys from Grate Expectations came to clean the bricks and point the fireplaces and also put in the limestone mantles today. Chimneys are coming along nicely, waiting for delivery of the woodburners which will only be March.

Bedroom fireplace

We had the handyman come round today to help us install the decorative fireplace (we won't use it) in our bedroom. He made pretty quick work of it with a kango drill and I even capped an electrical outlet all on my own and survived!

The room is pretty much ready to crack on and decorate now.
